Who started MyGoodAct?
MyGoodAct was started by the norwegian student Jonas Borchgrevink in 2009. A boy at the time he had one thought, he wanted to change the world. (A common thought for young and engaged people.) He had been thinking about MyGoodAct for ages and first glimpse of the idea MyGoodAct came in 2005 when he was only 15 years old. At that time social networks, including Facebook, were increasing in popularity and Jonas was feeling it.
Jonas had always been interested in helping others and thought help organizations like Red Cross, UNICEF, World Wild Life, and so on, did a great job. Now a brilliant idea came to life. He mumbled to himself: “Why can’t we make a social network for people that are interested in helping others? Why can’t we make it easier to donate money, make it funnier for young people to engage themselves and give people more information about constructive projects?” Jonas was certain that if people got more updates; saw more documentations of what the organizations actually did, people would be more generous. They would be more interested.
In 2009 he started on an economic school in Oslo Norway where he studied for a bachelor in Entrepreneurship. It was here he founded MyGoodAct and began working on projects and the layout of the organization. The MyGoodAct team was formed later on in 2010.
